Privacy policy

Who we are
EduMail (edumail.to) provides temporary e-mail inboxes. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@edumail.to.
Temporary inboxes
Messages sent to a temporary address are stored only so you can read them. Free inboxes and their messages are deleted automatically after 24 hours; inboxes created with a Pro wallet after 168 hours. You can delete an inbox or a message yourself at any time.
Free addresses are not private mailboxes: anyone who knows or guesses an address may be able to read mail sent to it. Do not use temporary inboxes for sensitive information.
Accounts
If you create an account we store your e-mail address, a password hash, your settings (language, forwarding, Telegram and webhook settings) and, if enabled, your two-step verification secret in encrypted form.
Security and fraud-prevention logs
To protect the service against abuse, fraud and attacks, we keep technical logs of security-relevant events, such as sign-ins, address creation and payments. These logs include the IP address and browser information of the request and are kept for up to 365 days, unless a longer period is required to handle abuse reports or by law. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
Payments
Wallet top-ups are processed by Cryptomus. We receive the payment status, amount, coin, network and transaction hash, but never your wallet keys. Cryptomus processes payment data under its own privacy policy.
Notifications you set up
If you enable forwarding, Telegram alerts or webhooks, we send message data to the address, bot or URL you provide. You control and can switch off these deliveries at any time.
Breach checker
E-mail lookups are sent to Have I Been Pwned and are not stored by us. For password checks, your browser sends only the first five characters of the password's SHA-1 hash; the password itself never leaves your device.
Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie for signed-in users, a cookie that links your browser to its free inbox, a language cookie and local storage for your theme and alert preferences. If ads are shown, the ad provider may use its own cookies.
Your rights
You can view, export or delete your account data, and object to processing, by contacting support@edumail.to. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
